Kin

KIN
Jodi Vaughn, vocals
Colette Russen, guitar
Colleen Mullarney, bass
Lisa Barone, drums

"Kin" means family, and although one is usually born into kinship, these four women have forged their sisterhood with bonds of music. Each member brings something uniquely her own to the mix, making this band's brand of hard-edged, groove-oriented bluesy rock irresistible.

Lisa Barone's hard hitting, in-the-pocket drums anchor the quartet. Colleen Mullarney's smooth bass lines, which reflect her fun-loving personality, mesh perfectly with Colette Russen's aggressive, blues-drenched guitar riffs to lay the musical foundation of the group. Vocalist Jodi Vaughn grew up singing gospel and country music in her small hometown of southern Georgia; it is her soaring vocals and down home southern style that complete the package.

Since 1993, Kin has opened for several national acts including such rock legends as Heart, Blue Oyster Cult, and Peter Chris and Ace Frehley of KISS.

They have performed to capacity crowds at major venues in New York and New Jersey.

In the spring of '96, Kin recorded a four-song EP entitled "Brigade". Produced by Ben Smith and recorded and mixed at Electric Lady and RPM studios in New York City, the sessions inspired and educated the quartet. After writing a dozen new songs, the band produced and released their first full-length CD, "Behind Closed Doors", in 1998.

Hungry to succeed at doing what they do best, their love of music comes through in every song and performance. See and hear what true Kin can do.
